Stunning fundraising event in Dufton near Appleby

What a night we had in Dufton last night.  Organised by our singing tutor Barbara Gilbertson and our treasurer Nick Gutteridge we turned up at 7 pm at the home of our hosts Liam and Sue at Midtown Farm http://www.midtownfarm.co.uk/ They had cleared the ground floor of their stunning home, putting out 60 chairs in their lounge, and putting up 2 marquees in their garden.  Volunteers served us with drinks and delicious hors d’oeuvres and we congregated in the food marquee.  What a turnout – it seemed as though the whole area had arrived for the concert.  The food was just scrumptious and gave a huge boost to the whole evening.  They had even thoughtfully extended the sound to the garden for those who couldn’t fit into the lounge. Many thanks to all the performers – singers, the choir, the musicians – you were all superb. By the time they all joined together for the finale we were truly in music heaven.  It was all great fun too and we really enjoyed watching Nick play his heart out on stage. Students and staff from Appleby should have been very proud of their performances. A big thank you from us all from Headway South Cumbria for your support especially to those who helped by sponsoring the evening.   Here are just a few photos but more are on their way
